Duane's Vision

On the top of a hill the young troops were gathering together for battle.
In the distance, the enemy was gathered in rank and grouped in tight formation.
One of the young warriors looked ready, but overwhelmed. In his
eye's the enemy looked like he had it more together than the young warrior
did. But the young warriors were ready for battle.
Then one of the old Generals
came up to
the young warrior, and started to speak to him making gestures with his
hands
and pointing at the troops. I couldn't hear what they we saying and I asked
the Lord what's going on? He spoke to me and said "The young warriors
are
eager to get into the battle, but they did not quite know how to win this
battle; but the old Generals know how to win battles." The old warriors
know how to win battles and the young warriors have strength, zeal and time.
The young need to hear, and the old need to be willing to teach
the next generation. If we both do not do our parts we will
fail in what the Lord has for the next generation.
Psalm 145:4-7
4-One generation shall praise Your works to another, and declare Your mighty
acts.
5-I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wondrous
works,
6-men shall speak of the might of your awesome acts, and I will declare Your
greatness
7-They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness and shall sing of Your
righteousness.
Malachi 4:6
And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts
of
the children to the fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with acurse.
Psalm 78:4-8.
4-We will not hide [them] from their children, shewing to the generation
to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works
that he hath done.
5-For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children.
6-That the generation to come might know [them, even] the children [which]
should be born; [who] should arise and declare [them] to their children.
7-That
they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep
his commandments.
8-And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation;
a generation [that] set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast
with God.
